This procedure is recommended for patients who have severe laxity of the upper eyelid. As we mature, the skin around the upper and sometimes the lower eyelid becomes loose and sags onto the upper eye. This procedure involves a simple incision made into the upper eyelid skin to remove the excess eyelid skin resulting in an immediate improved appearance of “tired eyes” and sagging skin. There are special sutures placed on the eyelids which are removed in 5 days. Bruising and swelling may occur which resolves within a week in most patients. After the procedure, patients enjoy better vision and the “eye lift” look for many years.
